ADCO

Azure data hub at ADCO.

I partnered with the CIO to lead an Azure data hub built to replace spreadsheet processes.

Tools and tech

  • Azure SQL
  • Logic Apps
  • Azure Functions
  • API Management
  • Power Apps
  • Power BI

The problem

At ADCO, project data sat in spreadsheets and disconnected systems across Project Controls, HSEQ, Finance and site systems. Reporting was slow and relied on manual entry. They needed one trusted reporting view.

My role

As a Microsoft Consultant, I partnered with the CIO to lead development of a central data hub. I worked closely with IT, operations and finance.

What I built

  • An Azure SQL data hub as the place for project data.
  • Logic Apps and Functions to automate data flows between business systems, and API Management to expose data services securely.
  • Power Apps and SharePoint interfaces for business users, plus Power BI dashboards on project performance.
  • Project Controls, HSEQ, Finance and site systems in one trusted reporting view.

How it worked

I delivered it in phases, starting with project status tracking and site performance.

Role-based access and logging ran through the hub. The stack was Azure, Power Platform and Microsoft 365.

Outcomes

One Azure data hub in place of spreadsheet-based processes.

Power BI reporting on project performance from that hub.

A foundation the CIO could extend to more projects.
